Martingales, Or Under-Checks help give the rider extra control by discouraging the horse from raising its head beyond the point that the bit works correctly in the horse’s mouth.
This great new design ensures even more control than your standard martingale, providing slight leverage to the bit this offers a solid connection between the horse and rider.
The Balance Martingale is designed to give the rider much needed contact for uneducated or flighty horses, prone to throwing their heads. And if you are a beginner or slightly nervous rider the Mediator Martingale is a must have piece of equipment to ensure your rein contact is stable and constant.
The Balance Martingale works by giving stability to the reins and applying downward pressure on the mouth via the bit and reins when the horse raises its head too high. Many riders like to use a martingale when jumping, especially on a young or strong horse.
The Balance Martingale is made up of four straps: one strap attaches to the girth after passing through the horse’s front legs, then branches into two further straps, with a ring at the end of each through which the reins pass. The fourth strap goes over your horses neck ensuring the rings maintain a constant, stable position.
All of the straps are fully adjustable ensuring that perfect fit for your horse.
